Historical FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Question: After the installation of CoCut for CorelDRAW 7 I cant enlarge the symbol bar under Windows NT 4.
Answer: This problem only occurs when using CorelDRAW and Windows NT 4 and according to CorelDRAWs
technical hotline it has been eliminated in the current release.

There are two possibilties to avoid this problem:

  1. If there is another Windows 95 installation besides Windows NT 4 on the same computer, you
should reinstall CorelDRAW 7 under Windows 95. Make sure that installation is done in the same
directory in which you installed CorelDRAW 7 under Windows NT 4. Then start CorelDRAW 7 under
Windows 95 and adjust the symbol bar. Exit CorelDRAW and restart your computer using Windows NT 4.
  2. If you have installed CorelDRAW 7 on another computer on which Windows 95 is installed and
have added the icon for CoCut into the symbol bar, you can copy the CDRBARS.CFG, CDRMENU.CFG
and CDRROLS.CFG onto a disc from the DRAW directory of CorelDRAW 7 and then copy them on the
Windows NT 4 computer into the DRAW directory of CorelDRAW 7.

Question: When I export my job in bitmap format (JPEG, GIF, TIFF, etc.) I only get a bitmap with lines.
Answer: This problem only occurs when Windows NT is being used. Unfortunately it cannot be eliminated at present, as the program modules for exporting bitmaps with the 32bit environment of Windows NT dont work.

Question: EuroCUT wont start and an error message copy protection not found appears. But the dongle can be detected without any problem using Windows 3.x or Windows 95.
Answer: Start Windows NT as administrator, insert program disk 3 (EuroCUT Light disk 2) into the
disk drive and start by entering a:\hlinst a: in the run program function. This copies
two additional driver files (HLDVDD.DLL into system32 directory and HARDLOCK.SYS into
System32\drivers directory) and enters them in the registry which allows the dongle to be recalled.

Note: EuroCUT can be run using Windows NT 4.0 from Version 4.0.

Question: No Postscript fonts are listed in the text editor although the Adobe Type Manager for Windows NT is being used.
Answer: As EuroCUT is still a 16bit program at present, no Postscript fonts are available to EuroCUT when Windows NT is used. You can automatically change your Adobe Type 1 fonts into TrueType format using Windows by activating fonts with the Windows NT 4.0 font manager.
